Professional Profile – Dr. Purvee Shah
Dr. Purvee Shah is the newest physician to join Allergy, Asthma & Respiratory Care. She joined in September 2010 and we are very excited to welcome her to our staff.
Dr. Shah graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and received her medical degree from Albany Medical College in upstate New York. She then completed a combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics residency at the University of Maryland in Baltimore, MD and went on to complete fellowship in Allergy and Clinical Immunology at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI. She then accepted a position as Senior staff physician and Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at Henry Ford in the Division of Allergy/Immunology. There she actively participated in research, training fellows, community outreach programs and was instrumental in starting a new clinic in an underserved area.
Dr. Shah is triple Board Certified in Allergy/Immunology, Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. She is a member of both the American Academy of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology as well as the American College of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology.
Dr. Shah is accepting both pediatric and adult patients at our Cypress location. Her areas of interest, among others, include both pediatric and adult asthma, allergic rhinitis, food allergy, drug hypersensitivity, contact dermatitis, urticaria, and immunodeficiency.
In her free time, Dr Shah enjoys spending time with friends and family, especially her husband and young son.
